AmaLyra offers a capacity of 71 outside deluxe staterooms. The staterooms on the Piano Deck have two fixed windows above water level. Many staterooms and all suites have French balconies, bringing the river’s beauty inside, while regionally inspired dining reflects the flavors of Paris and Normandy. Guests enjoy inviting public spaces such as the Main Lounge, a Sun Deck whirlpool, and a walking track, along with wellness amenities including a fitness room, massage services, and a hair salon. In the evenings, take in entertainment ranging from folkloric performances to Parisian classics on the Piano. AmaLyra features an elevator* and wide public areas to make moving around easier. Some staterooms are specially designed for guests with mobility needs, and the crew is always available to offer assistance both on board and during shore excursions, ensuring you feel comfortable and supported throughout your trip.

Dietary Requirements and Food Allergies
Please let us know prior to your departure if you have any special dietary requirements (e.g. vegan, diabetic, gluten-free, etc.). The food preparation areas of the ship is not conducive to preparing meals without some sort of cross-contamination including, but not limited to, exposure to nuts and gluten.
Minimum Age
Guests must be at least 12 years of age at the time of sailing. Children under 18 must share a stateroom with an adult and remain supervised at all times, as balcony staterooms may be unsafe for unattended minors. AmaWaterways does not provide child-specific programs or childcare services.

Day 1
Welcome to Paris! Settle into your Tasting History river cruise in the heart of Paris. Meet your crew, explore nearby cafés, and take a short riverside stroll. You’ll appreciate the easy start, familiar comforts on board and flexible choices ashore that set the tone for longer port stays. Meet your fellow Tastorians at the evening's Sip and Sail reception and enjoy a Welcome Dinner onboard.

Day 2
Choose how you want to experience Paris today. In the morning, join a small‑group city tour that highlights the city’s medieval past or explore the city by bike. In the afternoon, dive into the world of the Impressionists at the Marmottan Monet Museum or enjoy a guided shopping experience. All Tasting History guests will also get a chance to learn how to make tarte Tatin and madeleines with French grandmothers in a Parisian atelier. Sounds like a lot to fit into one day? You'll get another chance to do anything you missed on Day 7 with our extra day in Paris.

Day 3
Watch the Seine open toward the Channel as countryside scenes unfold from your stateroom or the Sun Deck. Enjoy a relaxing day onboard—then join a special advance screening of the next Tasting History episode, followed by a Q&A with Max.

Nov 15
Day 4
Walk the U.S. Landing Beaches with a knowledgeable guide or wander Honfleur’s timbered harborside lanes, complete with tastings of local cider and Pommeau, a delightful apple-based aperitif. Later today, you can explore Le Havre’s architecture on a tour led by a local guide. As a special treat for Tasting History guests, AmaLyra's chef will prepare locally-caught seafood for dinner.

Day 5
Explore Rouen on foot or by bike this morning. In the afternoon, choose between the tranquil elegance of Château de Bonnemare and its poplar-lined gardens, or the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen, home to an exceptional collection spanning the 15th century to today.
Over the next two days in Rouen, each Tastorian will enjoy one of two culinary experiences: Tastes of Normandy, visiting local food artisans, or a hands-on Norman pastry class.
This evening, dine at La Couronne, one of France’s oldest restaurants. Among its notable guests was Julia Child, who was inspired by a meal here to devote her life to French cooking.

Explore Musée de la Corderie Vallois. In the afternoon, step into an immersive Viking experience that brings the region’s legends to life. As we sail back to Paris, form up teams to compete in a Tasting History trivia night.
